Author and SCIBA Finalists Information:
Please make sure that you have provided for any of your authors:Head ShotCover ArtBioSocial Media or website informationSpecific dietary restrictions, if any.
If you have a finalist that is also a catalog title, please make sure that you have provided an alternate title, cover art, and description. Award winners are placed in the catalog, complementary.


All authors should check in with staff, before proceeding to their event.

KIDS FINALISTS and BREAKFAST SPEAKERS– The breakfast is scheduled for 8:00am, Sat. Oct. 22nd. Please have authors arrive up to 30 mins early,Especially if they need A/V support. We will be in the Father Serra Room.

We are expecting three speakers, at 15 mins each.

Winners may say a very brief (5 min) thank you.

Finalists’ meals are gratis. However, if your finalist wants to bring a spouse, child, editor, publicist, etc. please make arrangements for a meal ticket for that individual.

ADULT FINALISTS and LUNCHEON SPEAKERS-The awards luncheon is scheduled for noon, Sat. Oct. 22nd. Please have authors arrive up to 30 mins prior. We will be in the Beverly Park.

COCKTAIL AUTHORS- The cocktail starts at 6:00pm, Sat. Oct 22nd. Please arrange for authors to arrive there a little ahead, say 5:30pm? Just so we can get everyone in place.

Here are the shipping details, also to the right,  and if you could have them marked BREAKFAST, LUNCH, PANEL, or COCKTAIL it will help streamline the drayage. Also, full case packs are much appreciated, so if you need to round the quantity, feel free.

Program Advertising
SCIBA offers Trade Show advertising opportunities for visibility during its Education and Trade Show.Programs are provided to booksellers and all other registered attendees.The program is made available online and at the show as well.Please send all ads in .jpg or .gif format, black & white. Ad reservation and art are due September 25.Email for reservation and ad materials.

Hotel and Travel

Sleeping Rooms
We have arranged for a block of rooms at the Beverly Garland Hotel. Reservations should be made by September 22, 2016.
Single/double room rate is $175, not including taxes, etc.

Airport Information
The Burbank Airport (Bob Hope) is extremely close. Here is a list of non-stop flights and airlines, and the general list of airlines that service the airport. Often you can get to the hotel in 15 minutes.
LAX is of course larger, with many more airlines. However, the travel to the hotel may be a good deal longer.

Parking
Self parking is $12/day, $21 overnight

Call for Authors
Our trade show will again be at the Beverly Garland, by popular demand. Detailed agenda will be forthcoming. We are scheduled for October 21-22, 2016
We are seeking:
  • Speaking slots for our very popular award meals, both Children's and Adult. 15 mins, $1700, 125 books or galleys. (includes table for 8)
  • Panelists, we will select. $250, 75 books or galleys. Moderated panel, followed by signing
  • Keynote - $700, 100 books or galleys. Speaking and taking questions for up to 20 mins, followed by signing. (Stores are requesting someone aspirational or business-oriented.)
  • Signing Reception Authors, $250, 75 books or galleys. Should be able to circulate for 30 mins, possibly speak briefly, followed by a signing. 

Please submit your authors or illustrators by June 1st.
