Community and School Outreach Person - Mrs. Nelson's Toy & Book Shop

Do you have a passion for children's books and literacy? Are you a friendly people-person? If so, this job might be perfect for you.  

Job Duties:

Responsible for planning and implementing off-site events (authors at schools and libraries, community vendor fairs, etc.)

Market our business to schools, libraries and community groups (preschools, Mommy and Me clubs, etc.)

Part-time. Seasonal...follows the school calendar.

Requirements:

• Must be professional, personable and friendly
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must be able to lift heavy book boxes
• Must be a well-organized detail-oriented person
• A passion for children's books is required

Website/Media Person - 85% Mrs. Nelson's Toy & Book Shop; 15% Mrs. Nelson's Book Fair

Do you have a talent for creating websites that people love to explore? Do you have a passion for children's books and literacy? If so, this job might be perfect for you.

Job Duties:

• Create content, enhancements and maintenance of our templated website. This is a website for children  and their families. It must be fun and inviting.   
• Using Constant Contact, design and edit our weekly newsletter by writing short and lively book  reviews and toy descriptions and promoting special events.
• Incorporate video material into our website.
• Using Adobe In-Design, create and edit documents, fliers and handouts.
• Write and send out regular press releases.
• Manage our email customer file.

You can work from home with an occasional on-site meeting at our business location.
