Buyer/Assistant Manager

Our buyer/assistant manager will meet with sales reps to select books and toys and will assist our general manager with the overall operation of the book store. The ideal candidate for this position:
  • Is an avid reader (preferably of children’s books)
  • Is a college graduate
  • Has good communication skills
  • Has basic computer skills
  • Is strong (able to lift book boxes)
  • Is available weekends
  • Has worked in a retail environment
Promotions Writer/Graphics Expert
Our promotions writer/graphics expert will write and design all of our promotional material including our monthly newsletter, will create video of book talks and will make frequent updates of our website. The ideal candidate for this position:
  • Has excellent written communication skills
  • Is an avid reader
  • Can work a flexible work schedule of about 15-25 hours/week
  • Has video editing skills (not a must but would be a plus)
Events Coordinator/Community Outreach Person
Our events coordinator/community outreach person will plan and execute all special events for Mrs. Nelson’s Toy and Book Shop and will be responsible for calling on schools and libraries to promote Mrs. Nelson’s businesses. The ideal candidate for this position:
  • Has a passion for children’s literature
  • Has excellent people skills and works well within a team
  • Is comfortable in an educational environment
  • Can work a flexible schedule of 25-30 hrs/week (fluctuates with the school calendar)
  • Can work occasional weekends
  • Has excellent written communication skills
